Lot 136. This 18th century hand colored engraving by Bartoli was made after Roman temple paintings and has been professionally matted. Plate measures apprx 8" x 30", overall with full margins apprx 20-1/2" x 31-1/2". The image is a traditional Roman scene in which the figures play musical instruments, wear laurel wreaths and stand before fountains. It is unmarked with the exception of "LIV" in the upper right corner.

Figure is central with a 1" border of braided branches. Plate is numbered upper right XLV. Impression apprx 15" x 11", overall paper size apprx 20-1/2" x 12-1/2". Unsigned, on chain lined and watermarked paper.

Lot 100. These engravings are from the temple drawings of Bartoli after the famous Greek scuptures of Polydorus. Scenes depict a group of people traveling to the marketplace. They bring with them several barrels of wine, baskets of fruits and vegetables and animals. First image is entitled "Aegyptiorum Sive Afrorum Pereginatio." The second image is untitled. Both images are inscribed with the name "Petrus Sancti Bartoli." Plates numbered 3 and 4 in lower right corner. Both images measure apprx 6" x 18".
