March 2004 Fine Art & Antiques Auction Lot 78. Two matted pencil drawings of a cemetery. The first is stamped 115 and has two images on the front, one painted in watercolor. Located on verso are two landscapes, the top one painted in watercolor. Words are jotted under both drawings on verso. The second is stamped 116 and also has two images of a cemetery on the front, and the top one is painted in watercolor. The bottom image is approximately a quarter of the size as the top image. On verso are two additional pencil drawings, one of a small church with a bell tower and the second one, which is inverted, is a landscape. Both papers are taped to the mats in the upper corners only, so they can be examined on both sides. The image size measures apprx 9 - 3/4" x 7 - 1/2" and overall paper size is 16" x 13 -1/2", for both of them 200.00/400.00 | |

Watercolor on paper, signed in the lower right corner, matted and framed under glass, 14-5/8" x 21-5/8" sight size, with framing overall 23-1/2" x 30-1/2". Exhibited in the Cleveland Museum of Art May Show in 1934 (tag on verso), and exhibited in the invitational traveling watercolor exhibition of the Ohio State Fair, 1934 (also partial label on verso) with Cleveland Museum of Art Registrar's sticker on verso. 400.00/600.00 Sold $598.00 |
