Lot 39. "Cat & Kittens" oil on canvas. Best known for his works depicting cats and kittens, this particular painting is typical of French painter Jules LeRoy. This Victorian Era painting depicts a mother cat keeping a watchful eye on her kittens. One kitten looks expectantly up at the mother, while the other contentedly laps up a bowl of milk. Signed in lower right corner "Jules LeRoy". Framed, this piece measures apprx 34" x 30." Image measures apprx 24-1/2 x 20". Purchased from E. Ballesteros Galerie, one of the Swiss village galleries in Paris.
