Lot 56. Depicting two figures in the foreground gathering flowers on a hillside with a lake view in the background. An oil painting, it is signed "Carlo Ciampaglia" in the lower right corner. Carlo Ciampaglia was born in Italy, but came to the United States as a young child. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York and returned to Rome circa 1919. In 1920, while a student in Rome, he won the prestigious Prix de Rome. Image is matted and framed under glass. The image size is apprx 10" x 11-3/4" and framed it is apprx 16-3/4" x 18".
