Lot 174. Drypoint etching by Irene Kissel is entitled "Industry" and dated 1936. This is plate 44, edition 250 from the Cleveland Print-a-Month club. Signed in pencil in lower right corner. This image depicts a conceptual view of the Cuyahoga River and the bridges in the "Flats": once the industrial hub of the steel industry in Cleveland. Image measures apprx 9-1/2" x 8-3/4". Paper size measures apprx 13" x 12-3/4." Irene Kissel was born in Cleveland in 1910 and attended the Cleveland Institute of Art. She exhibited her prints and paintings in numerous Cleveland Museum of Art May Shows.
