Lot 15. Flute Serenade. Oil on canvas, signed in the lower right corner, inscribed "Munchen", framed in a feather-corner carved gilt frame, canvas size approx. 33-1/2" x 23-3/4", with frame overall approx. 40-1/2" x 30-1/4". This beautifully painted piece is a tour de force of detail and device. The shepherd boy is silhouetted by a misty distant lake scene. The girl postures coquettishly as she listens to his music. The foreground occupied by the children as well as their costume is rendered with minute attention to detail.
