Lot 130. A pair of hand colored ornithological engravings by Martinet, ca. 1770-1786. Each print measures approx. 10" x 8-1/2" plate size, 12-1/4" x 9" paper size, and approx. 16-3/4" x 14-3/4" overall with framing. Each is framed with a narrow gilt frame with a "rope" trim on the upper edge, with cream color matting with a painted green bevel. From "Histoire Naturelle Des Oiseaux" by Comet Georges-Louis de Buffon, grand-papier folio edition. Framed ca. mid-20th Century by The Bonfoey Company for Sam Borton Antiques.
