Walter Griffin (American 1861- 1935)

One of the best known landscape painters in Connecticut in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Griffin studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and in 1903 he joined fellow painter and close friend Childe Hassam in Old Lyme CT. He was elected to the National Acandemy in 1922.
