Lot 39. "Near Going To The Sun Camp", Colbrook Connecticut. Framed oil on canvas painting by American Artist Charles Warren Eaton. Signed "Chas Warren Eaton" in lower right corner, this painting measures apprx 19-1/2 x 23-1/2"" and depicts a peaceful scene of a field and grove of trees at sunset. Verso has hand written title, location and artist signature on back of strecher. Framers tag from Van's Frame Shop, Bloomfield, NJ. Eaton was one of the most significant 19th Century American painters in the Tonalist art movement.
