Lot 29. "Old Church, Stoke Mandeville". Oil on canvas mounted onto wood, signed "R. W. Arthur Rouse" on the bottom left corner. Image size approx. 7-3/4" x 11-3/4", framed overall approx. 13-1/2" x 17-1/2". Robert William Arthur Rouse was a landscape painter and etcher. He exhibited at the principal London galleries from 1882. He painted in London, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. He lived in London; Merton, Surrey; Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire; and Thame, Oxfordshire. there is a tag affixed to the verso of the panel and frame from Dowmunt Galleries, Surrey.
