Lot 33. Oil on canvas, signed lower left. On wood stretcher, verso has old illegible tag affixed and Hungarian export stamp. Canvas not dated; not framed. Apprx 22" x 27". Nagy studied in Budapest and in Munich. He was the student of Karoly Lotz. His interiors, reminescent of the Benczur school, were exhibited in the Art Gallery. Several of his paintings are in the Hungarian National Gallery. For his painting The Youth² he was awarded a gold medal in London in 1908, and in 1921 he won the prize of the Minister of Education for his picture Interior".
