Lot 41. "San Jacinto and Old Almond Orchard Near Beaumont, Calif." Oil on canvas over board, signed "Frederick A Zimmerman" on the lower left corner, dated '28. Image size approx. 11" x 14-3/4", framed overall approx. 16-1/2" x 20-1/4". Frederick Almond Zimmerman was a landscape painter, born in Canton, Ohio on Oct. 7, 1886. After graduating from high school in Canton, Zimmerman moved to Pasadena and enrolled at the University of Southern California. He further studied under Victor D. Brenner. He exhibited locally and was an instructor at the Pasadena Art Institute in 1962. Zimmerman died in Arcadia, CA on Nov. 27, 1974.
