Lot 131. New York City, showing the Twin Towers. Oil on canvas, signed and dated "Kamil Kubik 2000" on the lower right corner. Framed in a gilt wood frame. Image size approx. 15-3/4" x 25-1/2", framed overall approx. 22" x 32-1/4". Kubik is an impressionist-style painter, born in Czechoslovakia, studied all over the world, including London, Prague and Australia. His travels enable him to paint on location; however, he spends most of his time in the New York area, Washington, D.C. and Paris. His work has appeared on the covers of M.D. Magazine, Reader's Digest and Avenue Magazine. A number of his paintings are in the personal collection of George and Barbara Bush as well as President Bush.
