Lot 8. Allegorical Scene. Oil on canvas, appx 37" x 50-1/2". Archangel Michael(?) slaying the sinners. Interior of building has a great mix of architectural elements. Figures are costumed in Classical Roman manner. Frame was originally gold leaf and burnished bronze. Victorian multi-layered frame, apprx 5-1/2" wide.
