Lot 1. "The Picnic". Oil on canvas, signed lower right corner "Wm Shayer". Scene depicts a young child atop a horse. She is joined by a mother figure and a small donkey. A cloaked man is visible behind the horse and donkey. Several other figures are barely visible in the distance. In the lower right corner is a small dog, a cooking pot and a wicker basket. The blue sky is filled with fluffy white clouds. Canvas size is apprx 25" H x 30" W. Overall with frame apprx 30"H x 35"W. Gilt frame with name plaque, title and artists dates.
