Lot 53. "Still Life with Freesia & Roses". Oil on canvas, signed lower left and dated 1940, framed. A lovely painting of flowers in a pretty gold frame with corner accents. Bate is a well listed artist with a New York affiliation, mostly known for his portraits, landscapes and still life paintings. Canvas apprx 24" x 20-1/4", overall in frame apprx 30-1/2" x 26-1/2".
