Lot 42. Landscape with a peacock. Oil on canvas, signed in the lower right, dated 1918, canvas size 24" x 30", with frame overall 35" x 41". A pretty Impressionist style composition, the pigments applied in a thick vigorous texture with an energetic color palette. Known for oriental theme subjects, Teed studied in London, Paris, and Rome. He exhibited at the Boston Art Club in 1896 and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1912. Teed's paintings are in many permanent museum collections throughout the East coast.
