Lot 43. A young woman in a garden. Oil on canvas, signed in the lower left corner, framed in a simple wide wood frame, 23" x 33-3/4" canvas size, with framing overall 27" x 37-3/4". The canvas is also signed on verso and dated 1890, also inscribed "Antwerpen" and "Lentezonne". There is also a stenciled "29" above. This is a lovely scene with the central figure silhouetted by afternoon sunlight. She stands with her rake over one shoulder at the edge of a well manicured garden. A cottage is seen behind her in the distance.
