Watercolor on paper, each signed in the lower right corner, one dated under the signature June 24, 1976 and titled "Winter Whaleback" on verso, the other dated August 13, '66 on verso. Both paintings are 12" x 16" paper size. As the "Winter Whaleback" painting depicts rocks and sea, and the other depicts rocks and sky, they make a good pair. Neither are framed.

The paper size is 10" x 14". The second painting is dated on verso August 12, '66. The paper size is 10" x 13". Neither is framed.

Lot 218. A pair of Maine shoreline paintings. Watercolor on paper, each signed and dated in the lower right corner, not framed, 12" x 16" paper size. One dated 1972 and signed, also dated July 22nd 1972 and titled "Tip of Whale Back" on verso. The second is dated Aug. 14, 1969, and signed, dated and titled "Whale Back" "Looking down from the truck" on verso. The vivid colorations of these later works make a nice pair.
