Gustave Doré (French 1832- 1883)

Also known as Gustave Louis Christophe Paul Doré, Gustave became famous for his illustrations and engravings in Paris and his commissions included work by Rabelais, Balzac and Dante. In 1853 Gustave was asked to illustrate the works of Lord Byron.
