Lot 48. Untitled riverscape. Oil on panel, signed "Jules Rozier" on the lower right corner, framed in a gilt frame; matted. Image measures approx. 15" x 13-3/4"; framed overall approx. 20" x 19". Rozier was a student of Bertin and Delaroche; he specialized in rural landscapes, seascapes, and riverscapes from the banks of the river Seine in Normandy. He is part of the French Naturalist tradition made famous by the School of Barbizon. From 1839 to 1882 Rozier exhibited at the Salon De Paris.
