Lot 32. An interior scene with an older gentleman reading. Oil on canvas, mounted onto paperboard, signed in the lower left corner, dated '69, framed, 21" x 16" board size, 23" x 18" with framing overall. An older gentleman in the center of the composition is highlighted, while the other figures are in dimmer light, probably in a tavern interior. To the left are seated at a table and a tavern maid is seated behind a curtain to the right. Stamped on the back of the board is a notation that the painting was restored at the Copley Gallery in Boston, July 31, 1917.
