Lot 38. A meeting on a country lane. Oil on canvas, signed and dated in the lower right corner, '81, framed in a period Victorian ornate gilt frame which appears to have had another layer of frame at the outer edge, 10" x 14" canvas size, with framing overall 17" x 21". An idyllic scene in a misty and softly lit lane; a young girl seated side-saddle on her horse is being given directions by a small boy with a market basket standing in the lane. Frame has a nameplate at the lower center. There is a partial label from a Philladelphia gallery (not enough to identify) on the back of the frame.
