The reliefs are thought to be of Peleus and Thetis, mortal and immortal man and woman. The reverse is said to show their son Achilles and Helen of Troy being united after death. Designed by Willaim Hackwood and Henry Webber, circa 1786-89. Apprx 10" x 7".

244. Minton Plaque, "Undine" by Albert Ludvici, R.B.A. 1820-1894


Finely painted with a classically garbed maiden running by a forest brook, inscribed on the reverse "Messrs. RP Daniell & Co. 129 New Bond St. London, 1875" impressed Minton with date stamp and signed by Albert Ludvici. Framed, approxiamately 15"D, with frame apprx 21". The Undine is a Teutonic mythical maiden of the waters, known for protecting humans and fostering dreams and creativity.

Limited edition Picasso ceramic of a bull fight titled "Tauromachie". Very light weighing apprx 252 grams, has impressed scence and applied dark brown and green glaze. Rim and exterior body in dark brown glze, small foot, verso not glased and impressed stamp "Madoura Empreinte Originale Picasso". Incised date on interior of bowl, backwards, "25.11.53". Apprx 7" x 2-1/2" and apprx 8.9 oz.

Duchin asked Dali to symbolize Life & Death, War & Peace, and Love & Music. Each apprx 7-7/8" x 7-7/8" x 3/8", numbered 1-6 and ink stamped "Edition 1954", impressed in tile "Made in Spain".
