62. Pair of "Phiz" (Hablot Knight Browne 1815-1882)

A wonderful pair of watercolors titled in order, "Plunger gets well away and thinks he is in for a good thing...", "And so he is". The first of the pair shows Plunger riding fast, accompanied by his dogs. The next image show Plunger and his horse falling into a large mud-puddle. Both are titled in pencil lower left and signed "Phiz" lower right. Main figures drawn in pencil with watercolor on sketch pad paper. Image size apprx 10-1/4" x 7", framed with French mats. Not inspected out of frames. "Vixseboxse Art Galleries, Inc." tag on verso (Cleveland, Ohio).
