1. John J. Enneking (American, 1841-1916)

"Sheep Grazing", twilight landscape with a flock of grazing sheep. Oil on board, framed, image size 7-1/8" x 9-1/2". Signed lower right and dated "81".

Enneking was originally fom Ohio, studied and trained in Europe and received many awards at such prestigious expositions as the Paris 1900 Pan-American, Buffalo 1901 and the Pan-Pacific in San Fransico in 1915. He worked with the French landscape painters Charles Daubigny and Louis Eugene Boudin and became friends with Camille Corot and Jean Millet. Vixseboxe Art Galleries tag on verso (Cleveland, Ohio).
