259. Late Regency Inkstand, c. 1802-1813

Possibly Pinxton Factory, glazed and fired then finished with a gilt stencil of scrolling ferns and flower buds. Single handle on the back, two pen holders and painted red bird in front cartouche. Apprx 6-3/4" x 3". The under glaze is a mottled pea green with touches of blue. The red bird is in a hexagonal cartouch in a Regency style and has French inspired touches with a naive style. Soft-paste porcelain with a dense orange opacity. This item do not have a mark. If this item is Pinxton it would be post William Billingsly, the second period.
