95. William Gropper (American 1897-1977)

"Bareback Dancer". Serigraph on brown paper, framed, image size apprx 15-3/4" x 21-3/4".

Gropper was a student of Robert Henri and George Bellows and did fine art painting until the early 1920s. Gropper is most famous for his politically charged images and rendering of political figures, one being "The Youngstown Strike".
