99. Louis Icart (French 1890-1950)
"Mockery", etching and aquatint printed in colors with handcoloring, 1928, signed in graphite lower right. Lower left in graphite "E 54", to the right of Louis Icart drystamp. Offered in original frame, under rolled glass. Apprx 16-1/4" x 19-1/4" platemark, overall in frame apprx 24" x 27".
Louis Icart is known for his depiction of women during the art deco period. His techniques include etching and dry point with hand coloring. He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books, beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs as well as printed ephemera and works on canvas with oil.

A pair of hand colored engravings, in period frames with rolled glass. The first engraving is after J.B. Cipriani's painting "Fine Arts", nine putti studying music, science and architecture to name a few. The second engraving, also after Cipriani, shows another group of putti, one being a satyr, another with wings, along a costal landscape with Pegusus in the background. Each apprx 10-1/2" x 21", with frame apprx 14-1/4" x 25" Published by Bartolozzi.
