10. Pre Columbian Terracotta Vase

C. 500-800 A.D. Mayan terracotta vase, apprx 10-1/4" high x 5-1/4" d, scene of two seated men with elaborate head-dresses, circular forms of organic and serpentine nature, known as pseudoglyphs, elements having a generally glyphic shape but without meaning. Image in band of with white background with five black bands in Palace Style, overall painting apprx 8-1/2". Colors include white, rust, creme/yellow, lavender, overall stain finish, interior unfinished. This was purchased from a private collection in New York, apprx ten years ago and has remained in a private collection. Please call the gallery for further information.
