70. Roman Court Scene, 16th Century

Pen and Ink on paper. "Collektion/ W. Seibt" stamped lower right. Graphite sketch of a woman feeding a bird on verso. Apprx image size 9" x 14-1/2". "G & I Honig" beehive watermark, visible chain lines. Tag and following information on verso: Romano works include: Palazzo de Te, at Mantua, Italy 1526 to 1534. A renaissance Italian painter and architect, also kown as Guilio Pippi, was a principal assistant to Raphael. From the collection of Professor Ferdinand Seibt (1927-April 2003), emeritierter professor at the Ruhr University Bochum and chairmen of the Collegium Carolinum in Munich.
