Northwest France or Paris, on Parchment paper. Hand illuminated with gold, red and blue inks. End of Psalm 950, Beginning of 96 - A Psalm, "A song for the Sabbath Day". From a spectacular Psalter from the Reign of King Philip Augustus (1179-1223), which was made to order for a member of Royal Court. Apprx 6-1/2" x 9-1/4"

Translation: 95:10 For fourty yars i was angry with the generation; I said, "They are peopl e whose hearts go astray, and they have ot known my ways." 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."
