"The Hitching Rail". Scene from Farmerstown, OH. Pastel on paper, signed lower right and dated 1973. Framed, artist tag on verso. Apprx image size 9 1/2 x 13-1/2", frame size apprx 15" x 19". As a young man, Leslie honed his artistic talents as he sketched and painted farm scenes from around eastern and southeastern Ohio. Leslie began working at The McCoy Pottery where he became a designer, side-by-side, with his father Sidney, who became the designer for the Nelson McCoy Pottery Co. Leslie's works can be seen in the permanent collections of The Cope Gallery in Roseville. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Carnegie Institute, The Smithsonian Institute and The Library of Congress. 200/400 Sold $655.50 back to catalog |
