71. Attila Nagy (Hungarian, b. 1928)
Rural country winter scene of people at a skating pond, windmill and rolling clouds in background, scene is pushed up to the foreground inviting the viewer into the landscape, oil on canvas, framed, signed lower right, apprx image size 19-1/2" x 23". Thinly painted, four key frame. About artist tag on verso reads: "Attila Nagy: Born in Budapest, Hungary in 1928. After his finals at the secondary school he was taught privately by the well known artist Marffy Odon for 4 years. He worked as an artist in graphics and later on as a designer of animated cartoons in a film studio. In 1964 he graduated at the University for Fine Arts in Budapest. Since then he has been participating regularly in exhibitions."

76. Mawalan Marika (Australian Aborigine, 1908 - 1967)
"Turtle and Fish Dance", pigment on bark, apprx 26" x 8-1/2", mounted to backing board with frame. Tag on verso explains the painting "The artist has here shown his sacred well, into which his spirit returns at death. He belives that his spirit also came from the well at birth. Turtle and Fish are two of the dances performed in an initiation ceremony, and are a re-enactment of the dances which the Hawilak (sp) Sisters performed in mythological times in an effort to prevent Yurlungurr, the sacred Python, from swallowing them". Mawalan was a noted artist, statesman and ritual leader of the Dhuwa at the beach camp Yirrkala, North East Arnhem Land in Australia.
