A London telegram receipt dated June 28th, 1904. Caruso writes a brief thank you note. Paper measures apprx 5-1/2" x 8-1/2". The telegram is addressed to the Hotel Cecil. Creases and worn edges.

719. Enrico Caruso signed Post Card
Measures apprx 3-3/4" x 5-3/4". This is a postcard from Germany sent to Mrs. Sibil Seligman in London. On the front of the card Caruso has written Mrs. Seligman a brief note in Italian. The scene on the front of the card is one of men smoking cigars and conversing with one another in a Salon setting. Caruso was a legendary opera singer.

720. Enrico Caruso Signed Thank You Note
This is a thank you note signed by Enrico Caruso, c. 1900-20. On the cover of the card are grapes attatched to their vines. It is encircled by a yellow ribbon tied in a bow in the upper left corner. On the front the card reads "Every Good Wish". Inside, in French is written "Many thanks and wishes of happiness" and is signed "Caruso". This note measures apprx 5-3/4" x 3".

Color lithograph of actress Sarah Bernhardt from the July 5, 1879 issue of Vanity Fair. This image measures apprx 10-1/2" x 15-1/4" Sarah Bernhardt's name appears at the bottom along with the publisher, Vincent Day Brooks & Son, Lith. Vanity Fair was a popular women's fashion magazine in the 19th century. Sarah Bernhardt was a well known actress of the time. She appeared in Vanity Fair twice, in 1879 and again in 1912.

This is a fine set of wooden building blocks. The instruction page has been torn and taped together. The blocks show signs of wear. The wooden box measures apprx 14" x 8", and dates from the early to mid-1900's. Apprx fifty multicolored wooden blocks. Some have been decorated to look like bricks and stones.

724. Dutch Building Blocks
Set of wooden blocks, contained in a wooden box measuring apprx 13-1/2" x 10". Some pencil markings on label. The wooden blocks are colorful and show signs of wear, but otherwise are in good condition. This set of building blocks dates from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Two layers of blocks in box, first layer contains simple rectangular blocks. Top layer contains apprx fifty more complex blocks, in the shapes of windows, cylinders and arches. Some of the blocks have been decorated to look like bricks and stones. Window blocks have red plastic backings. No pieces are missing.

This game is an early version of fooseball. The instructions are located on verso of the lid. The object of the game is to use straws to push the ball to the goal. This game is from the mid 1900's. The box measures apprx 14" x 6". Contents of the game include one page of instructions, two goalie pieces, one ball, and six tubes. Air is blown through the tubes to push the ball towards the goal. All pieces are intact.

This is a game from the the J.W.S & S company in Bavaria. The lid shows a young girl on a farm, chasing after geese. Instructions are located on verso of lid. The object of this game was to help young children learn their numbers by means of matching. Boxed games such as this became popular in the late 19th century. The box measures apprx 9" x 9". Contents of the game include four game boards and corresponding pieces. Missing pieces #44, #48, #40, #28 and #11.

This is game from the mid 1900's that is based on a fairy tale by Mme d'Aulory. Le Nain Jaune is translated as the "yellow dwarf". This particular game is a type of card game. English instructions have been included. The French instructions are located on verso of the lid. Nain Jaune is similar to the game of Michigan Rummy. The box measures apprx 12" x 9-1/2". Contents of the game include two black dishes, one game board, four separate containers, one deck of cards, and assorted game chips similar to poker chips. A printed page of English instructions has been included.
