Both wall mount wall sconces are of brass, each with two lights, pull chains and a central Wedgwood medallion of oval shape with a female figure in Roman dress scattering flowers. The upswept arms are fluted and the top and bottom have have urns, bay leaves and scrolling ferns. Both have two ceramic "candles". Apprx 16" H x 11-1/2"W x 5"D.

Walnut Eastlake Victorian marble top parlor table, table seperates from stand, brown marble, sturdy base with lots of strong carvings typical of the Eastlake style, apprx 29-1/2" x 21-1/2" x 29". Eastlake encouraged "honesty" in construction and finishing. He called for hand crafted, solid wood furniture with rectangular joinery. He condemned the practice of using stains and varnishes to disguise inexpensive woods, calling instead for oiled, naturally colored finishes; this piece exemplifies all of his ideals.

Oak cabinet with dark stain and satin finish, three panels feature identical carved floral design in low relief, bracketed legs, front panel has lock and key, apprx 42" x 20-1/4" x 30", Kensington Furniture tag on verso. This piece came from a famous Cleveland landmark building, The Statler Arms.

Wood carving in oak with a dark stain and satin to gloss finish. Woman has detailed flowers in her hair and an earring with an inverted heart on it, she is looking down at a flower in her hand, apprx 21" x 14" x 4". This was purchased at an estate sale in Paris from a closing cafe/restaurant. Originally, there were eight different ladies along the wall in the cafe.

French clock set with bronze artist/scholar figure, removeable paintbox, portrait and artist palette on base, scholar holds a book and is wearing a sword, white enameled face with roman numerals, illegible and worn letters on dial. Apprx height 21", apprx width at base 21". Includes two identical urns, apprx 18" in height, ornate spout, female torso on handles, vignettes around center bulge and two display figures. Green felt on verso. Interior of clock works marked "Medaille de Bronze S. Marti et Cie" and number 5083.

A 19th Century rocker the traditional Salem style, developed in New England, is a variation with a lower back than the Boston Rocker, light straight spindles and a heavier top rail scroll. This rocker has black paint, gold accents and a stencil on the head rest of a sprig of flowers. It appears to be constructed of oak (showing through patches of worn areas). There is an overall "crazing" giving a bumpy feel overall. Measures apprx 40"H x 21"W x 30"D, unsigned or marked.

354. Set of Six American Rush Sides Chairs (Late 19th/Early 20th Century)


Possibly Lambert Hitchock (1795–1852). The seats have been replaced. The six chairs are painted black over red, with designs stenciled in colors and gold. The decoration consists of large floral and fruit designs, banded patterns and Greek anthemia in gold. They are of good wood and sturdily built. They have a "bolster" or flat-fronted top rail, with round, splayed, ring-turned front legs, sometimes tapered with ball feet. The legs and rungs are simple and well turned. The seats are of rush and they all have the proper "aging", or wear to the feet rests and slats from use.

A very large and impressive library table in oak. The bulbous bracket legs are carved and with fluting. Yellow/golden tone, perfect for a personal library or dinning table. Apprx 30"H x 40"W 72"L. Planked top, three drawers, two on one side and one on the other, all with brass handles.
