This collection of miscellaneous silver flatware includes a charming set of butter knives with hand-carved monkeys on the top of the handles. The seven knives are stamped "MAS 900" on verso of shank. Each knife is unique. The expressions on each monkey's face are different. In addition to the set of butter knives, this collection of flatware also includes three identical sterling silver spoons, decorated in a very delicate spiderweb pattern. A fan with tiny silver beads is featured at the top of the handle. Silver beads are interwoven throughout. No visible hallmarks. Two unique sterling spoons complete this set. One spoon has Art Nouveau style decoration and no visible hallmarks. Second spoon has a delicate diamond pattern and is hallmarked Mexican silver. This set of flatware weighs approx 1.8 Troy oz.

This set of sterling silver flatware includes five dinner forks, two table spoons, two teaspoons and sixteen assorted coffee spoons. The dinner forks are hallmarked American silver on verso of shank. These have a simplistic design with delicate scrollwork at the top of the handle. Each fork has been engraved with an initial.

Assorted Silver Flatware

298. Assorted Silver Flatware


This is a unique collection of assorted silver flatware. Style of pieces range from ornate to simplistic, antique to modern. Set includes two large serving knives, two small serving knives. Large serving knives are hallmarked American silver. This set also includes a serving spoon with a mother-of-pearl handle. This spoon is marked "Continental Mfg Co, N.Y.". In addition to this collection of flatware are four assorted knives, two which are hallmarked American silver, and two with no visible hallmark. Other items in this set include a Danish serving spoon with blue enameled handle, five coffee spoons, four oyster forks, three small ladles, nine teaspoons and one small fork. Ladles are hallmarked American silver, as are the forks, coffee spoons and teaspoons. Some residue from stickers on verso of the two small serving knives. Sizes range from 10" to 4" and this set weighs apprx 24.8 Troy oz.

299. Another Set of Assorted Silver Flatware


This set consists of spoons in various styles. Most of the spoons are soup spoons or teaspoons, although the collection includes three coffee spoons. One set of teaspoons features the Hanna House. All four spoons are stamped on verso, but much of the information has been buffed away. Another set of spoons is hallmarked American silver and is very simple. These spoons have been engraved with the initials "D.G.M.". A third set of soup spoons has a Greco-Roman style decoration on the shank and is hallmarked American silver on verso. Each spoon has been engraved with the letter "W". The three coffee spoons are hallmarked American silver and date from 1921 through 1964. Thirteen of the sixteen teaspoons are hallmarked American silver and have assorted engravings on the handles. Most engravings are initials or fraternity chapters. Three remaining spoons have no visible hallmarks. Sizes range from 6-1/2" to 4" and this set of silver weighs approx 22.9 Troy oz.

Two gold plated spoons with medallion design featuring a family crest and crown, one spoon with Celtic carving on shank, Arabic medallion spoon, inscribed children's spoon, set of figural spoon and fork, Bermuda souvenir spoon, German beer stein spoon, Norweigan spoon for the 1964-65 World's Fair, three German figural spoons, decorative spoon from Bruges, decorative spoon from Rainbow Falls, and two figural spoons of Shakespeare and Bayreuth. This collection is extremely diverse. All spoons range in size from 5-1/2" to 4". Silver is hallmarked American and English, as well as German and Norweigan. Overall apprx 5.8 Troy oz.

This is a unique assortment of sterling silver souvenir spoons. Several spoons commemorate important events such as holidays, graduations and inductions into fraternal societies. In addition some spoons are souvenirs from various locations throughout North America and the world, including Mexico, Iowa, New Mexico and Wisconsin. Each spoon is different with details such as engraved bowls and ornately carved shanks. One spoon in particular has a distinctive shovel shaped bowl while another has been inscribed with the name Elsie. 15 of the 18 spoons are hallmarked American silver. The remaining three are hallmarked silver from various European countries, including Holland. Spoons range in size from 6" to 4". Dates range from 1897 to present day. Overall apprx. 9.8 Troy oz.

Spoons range in size from apprx 5-1/2" to 3-1/2". Three spoons are hallmarked Holland, W.V.V, others are hallmarked Irish silver, German silver and Birmingham silver. Most spoons are dated post-1900. A diverse group of souvenir spoons from various locations throughout North America. Locations include Arkansas, Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Washington, California, Canada, Maine, New York, Arizona, South Dakota, Chicago, Massachusetts and West Virginia. Set numbers 22 spoons. Spoons feature locations such as the Frontenac Hotel in Frankfort, Michigan, Huntington, West Virginia, Kendallville, Indiana, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Chillicothe, Missouri, Niagara Falls, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Lake Champlain, Seattle, Portland, Black Hills and New Orleans. All spoons are hallmarked American silver, with the exception of a brass spoon from Chicago. One spoon from Missouri is dated November 28, 1904. Spoon collecting was extremely popular in the first decade of the 20th century. Each spoon has unique details, such as prominent locations (Mount Rushmore, the Space Needle, City Hall Tower, East Lake Park) and ornate carving on the shanks and bowls, particularly in the spoon from Huntington. The locations of the spoons are carved on the shanks. Overall apprx 11.1 Troy oz.

Historical Souvenir Spoons

305. Historical Souvenir Spoons


This is a remarkable set of twelve sterling silver souvenir spoons from various historical locations throughout the United States. Such locations include Fort Dearborn, the Liberty Bell, Mount Vernon, North Point, and Sulgrave Manor (George Washington's ancestral home) One particular spoon has an enameled bowl featuring the American Flag and is inscribed "Army/Navy" and is dated June 14, 1909 on verso of the shank. The spoon from Fort Dearborn has the skyline of Chicago carved on the shank. Both spoons from the Liberty Bell depict the monument and are hallmarked American silver. Two Mount Vernon spoons depict the home of George Washington and are hallmarked American silver. A set of three English sterling silver spoons with enamled details at the top of the shank depict Sulgrave Manor. These spoons are hallmarked Sheffield, from the mid to late 1800's. The next spoon depicts the First Baptist Church in Portland and is marked R.W & S. 1899. The last spoon is from Boston and commemorates Old Ironsides. This spoon is marked Geo. E. Homer on verso of the shank. These souvenir spoons would make an excellent addition to any collection. Measure from apprx 6" to 4-1/4". Overall apprx 8.2 Troy oz.
