This hand carved pipe rack in a tramp art style contains three seated "birds", the heads being the actual pipe portion, Pipe Becasse De Posse printed near the beak on each one, removeable mouthpiece, container comes in three sections - the lid, ashtray with removable gold dish and holder attached to base also contains cold interior though not removeable, stands apprx 13"H, apprx 6"D.

Santos Figure

Male santos figure (possibly Saint Francis) with base, oak, splintering throughout with some cracks, right hand missing, has some original paint, repair on both feet, hook on back for hanging, apprx 16", flat back, holes on verso and glue remnants, two sections scooped out of back. Especially common in Mexico and the Southwestern U.S., these carved wooden images of saints were often the subject of prayer.

This ornately carved Rocco walnut chair has an open and pierced back with detailed turned supports and legs. Warm original finish with light rubbing to reveal wood grain. Right front leg has metal plate repair. Apprx 41" x 21" x 20".

362. An English Brass Fireman's Helmet, c.1875-1925


A brass helmet with visor and neck gaurd, chin strap and ornate scrolled top. Forward emblem depicts crossed hatchets and two horses. Apprx 8"W x 11-1/2"D x 10-1/2"H. This brass helmet was first worn by firemen in the volunteer fire brigade in Wrexham, England, formed in 1863. They had two horse-drawn fire engines and in 1894 they built a fire station on the old Guildhall Square off Chester Street.

A late 19th century English or American brass fireplace fender with pierced solid brass belt work and etching in a grape and vine pattern. Open gallery with brass rod above belt, has two brass oval bolted to both ends and turn bar bolted to front. A thin brass sheet had been hammered over cast metal at base. Cast brass animal feet. Possibly the original iron bottom pan. Apprx 54" x 13" x 13".

Beautiful Cambridge & Farber Bros. compote. Glass inserted is Farber Bros. Art Deco holder, apprx 8", brilliant orange compote is apprx 5" D has a slim edge and sits in a silver base decorated with outlined points with stem of a woman called Carmen. Has all the hallmarks on the bottom. Also New York, N.Y. and a patent number.
