R.Wallace & Company sterling silver platter, monogrammed in center, shallow dish with detailed rose border in moderate relief around perimeter. R. Wallace & Sons hallmark on verso along with sterling mark, number 163 and number 16 IN. The R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co. was originally located in Wallingford, Connecticut. Today, the company goes under the name Wallace Silversmiths, Inc. Apprx 16" x 10-1/2". Overall apprx 26.3 Troy oz.

288. Sterling Silver Mustard Pots with Spoons


Set of four mustard pots with corresponding mustard spoons. Three pots are identical. Fourth pot is more ornate with floral and scroll design and decorative handle. This particular pot is lined with blue glass. Glass has sticker on bottom dates 1897. Mustard pot itself is English hallmarked sterling silver from Birmingham, 1895-98. Three identical mustard pots are sterling silver and stamped "F163 800" on verso. Each has clear glass liner and hinged lid. Four corresponding mustard spoons. One is unmarked. Other three are hallmarked English silver. One spoon is hallmarked Birmingham, 1883-84, EF & HT. Second spoon is hallmarked Chester, 1896-97, SWS. Third spoon is hallmarked Birmingham, 1888-89, SWS. Overall apprx 5.8 Troy oz. with glass inserts.

First set of salt shakers measure apprx 5"H and are slightly tarnished, silver hallmark on verso, also marked "Weighted 432". These shakers have a simple design and removable lids. The second set of salt and pepper shakers are hallmarked silver, inscribed "PS22-15S" on verso. These shakers have a simple design and ornate lids which can be removed, measure apprx 5"H. This set also includes two gold-toned bowls, hallmarked silver on verso, measuring 1-1/2" each. The set of spoons is hallmarked English silver from Birmingham, C. 1859-60 and designed by George Unite. Overall apprx 6.0 Troy oz.

This lot includes 4 salt and pepper shakers, 3 mustard pots and 3 spoons. First mustard pot is round with ball shaped legs and hallmarked sterling 230 and logo, apprx 2"D. Second mustard pot has ruffled edges and decorative legs, hallmarked Sanborns Mexican sterling, apprx 2-1/2". Third mustard pot has stamped numbers on verso, and stamp on foot, illegible. Three spoons have full English hallmarks. Two matching spoons have gold washed bowls and decorative border, London, C. 1875. Third spoon is hallmarked Birmingham 1916-17. Small salt shaker hallmarked sterling with illegible stamp, measures apprx 1-3/4". Larger shakers are hallmarked "Sandborns Mexican Sterling", have removable lids and ornate designs, measures apprx 3-1/2". Similar, smaller shakers have full English hallmarks, Birmingham, possibly C. 1777-8. Overall apprx 8.0 Troy oz.

Assorted sterling silver tableware includes three sets of salt and pepper shakers, set of fourteen small dishes, five teaspoons and a large salt shaker. Twelve of the fourteen dishes have decorative scallop design around the edges, remaining two dishes have simple design of vertical inscisions. Each dish is hallmarked silver on verso with the numbers 110 and 310. Large salt shaker has removable lid and simple design. Hallmarked silver with a stamp depicting three arrows on verso, measures approx 3"H. Set of sterling silver salt shakers has gold toned removable lid. One shaker is inscribed with "AM" the other with "Daisy" Hallmarked silver on verso with "CEO. C. SHREVE, San Francisco", measures apprx 2"H. Another set of hallmarked silver salt and pepper shakers. Simple design, has silversmith's marking on verso, measures apprx 2-1/4"H. Third set of salt and pepper shakers have removable lids. Hallmarked Mexican silver on verso, measures apprx 2". Spoons are all hallmarked Birmingham, C. 1915, measure apprx 3-3/4". Overall apprx 10.8 Troy oz.

Two mustard pots; first apprx 1-1/2"T on tripod legs, hallmarked Chester c. 1907-8. The other is hallmarked Sheffield, c. 1907-8 and engraved "TEH", apprx 1-1/4"T, also with tripod legs. Lot also includes eleven assorted hallmarked salt and mustard spoons, dates ranging through the 19th century. Overall apprx 8.6 Troy oz.

Marthisen Sterling, Norway 337", apprx 2-1/8". Assortment also includes three money clips. One money clip is shaped to form the initials E.J.O, verso stamped" Black Starr & Gorham Company". Second money clip is "sterling" with "n" in circle, third is marked "Sandborns Mexican Sterling". Two miniscule silver bowls are hallmarked Webster Company, apprx 1-1/2"D, silver salt shaker marked illegibly on verso, apprx 2"H. Other pieces includes a sterling silver dish by The Watrous Mfg. Co. apprx 3"D, another sterling dish, mark not found, apprx 2-1/2" and a and sterling silver perfume vial. Overall apprx weight is 7.3 Troy oz.
