| 65. Edmund Minor Archer (American, b. 1904)
A forest interior, watercolor on paper, signed lower right and dated '51, framed with glass, apprx image size 14" x 20-1/2", apprx frame size 22-1/2" x 28-1/2". Born in Richmond, Virginia in 1904, Archer studied at the Art Student's League in New York City, the Colarossi Academy in Paris and independently with many famous artists of his time. He exhibited at the Corcoran, Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the World's Fair and at the National Academy of Design. In addition he exhibited and won numerous awards in museums throughout the United States. He was also a professor at George Washington University. 100/200 Sold $172.50 back to catalog |
