"The Door to Hell Will be Closed Forever and the Key Thrown Away" by Sulamith Sokolsky "Past, Present and Future" by Sulamith Sokolsky "Unformed Thoughts" by Sulamith Sokolsky "The Door to Hell Will be Closed Forever and the Key Thrown Away" has been signed in lower right corner and dated "June '34" The sketch measures approx 13- 3/4" x 18- 1/2" This sketch depicts the Princess with her back turned, opening a set of ornate gold doors. Behind the doors is darkness and in the darkness there is a figure of a nude man and a nude woman holding hands. Princess Florinda is wearing a green dress and has a gold key hanging from her wrist. Many comments have been made throughout the margins noting where changes need to be made. "Past, Present and Future" is signed and dated "May '34" in the lower right corner. It measures approx 13- 3/4" x 18- 1/2" This sketch shows the Princess lying awake in her bed. Three spirits of the past, the present and the future hover above her. Blue, pink and yellow light beams flow from the spirit's fingers. This sketch is in good condition with tiny pieces missing from the corners and a small tear on the left side. "Unformed Thoughts" has been signed by the artist and dated "Oct. '34" in the lower right corner. This is a watercolor and ink sketch that depicts the Princess Florinda sitting on her bed with colorful thoughts whirling around her. She is sitting with her hands to her chest contemplating her thoughts. This is part of a series of sketches of the Princess Florinda. It was made for an illustration or mural.
