250. Towle "Louis XIV" Service, C.1924

By Towle Manufacturing Co. Part dinner service including 82 pieces. Several pieces monogrammed "R". Items include: eleven 7-1/2" dinner forks, five 7" lunch forks, one 6" dessert fork, eight 5" lemon forks, eleven 9" hollow handled dinner knives, six 8-1/2" hollow handled lunch knives, two 5-1/2" flat butter knives, sixteen 5-1/2" teaspoons, five 4-1/2" round berry spoons, six 6" round soup spoon, six 7-1/2" ice tea spoons, one 8" vegetable serving spoon, one 6-1/2" olive fork, one 5" nut spoon, one 6" dessert server, and one 4" sugar tong. Overall apprx 107 Troy oz. The Towle Manufacturing Co. was incorporated in 1880 in Newburyport, MA. Best known for their sterling silver flatware patterns "Old Colonial" and "Georgian" Towle is the leader in silver production with a rich and impeccable history of silversmithing.
