| 307. Carved Walnut Flemish Armoire, C. 1850
Ornately hand carved walnut two door armoire with three figures at base, two females and a male with club and leopard skin. Three fluted columns have floral swags, rosettes and repetitive molding, topped with Acanthus leaf capitals. Both hinged doors have carved panels with arched top depicting a Bacchanalian man and a mythological woman. Both figures are in oval vingettes surrounded by scrolling leaves and and egg and dart type border. The lower panels both have two more figures, a man and a woman, both mythological in appearance. Interior has two mirrors on doors and brackets for shelving, all walnut. Armoire includes four plate glass shelves. Overall apprx 55"W x 90"H. Door, top and base separate for easy moving.
