| 504. Rookwood Pottery Bowl
Rose colored Rookwood pottery bowl dated from 1958. This bowl has a glaze finish and features an ivy and palm design around the upper rim. Dated 1958 in roman numerals on verso, as well as numbered 6679. Bowl is also marked "Rookwood, Cinti O". This bowl is in good condition and measures approx 6" x 5". Rookwood was a highly successful ceramic company, founded by Maria Longworth Nichols in 1880 as an amateur pottery club. Rookwood soon became a sophisticated enterprise under the able management of William Watts Taylor, who was hired as general business manager in 1883.
