This beautiful 20th century iridescent vase measures apprx 6" x 13" The iridescence is caused by exposing the molten interior of the vase to a weak acid. The acid evaporates and is gone in a moment. The result is a rich and permanently etched surface that refracts and reflects the light surrounding it. The colors on this vase change from gold to green to purple. The interior is red glass. This vase in oil-drop pattern has been inspired by the designs of L. C. Tiffany.
