| 107. Paul Riba (American 1912-1977)
"Pennsylvania Countryside", casien on masonite, apprx 22-1/2" x 26-1/2", framed. This painting was previously purchased from the Intown Club Exhibition in November 1964. Painting features a riverside scene with large trees and quaint houses. Mountains loom in the background. Signed in lower right corner and inscribed on verso. Riba has exhibited in many prestigious institutions including the Smithsonian, Museum of Modern Art and the New York Worlds Fair. He was a major force in the Cleveland School, born in Cleveland and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and graduated from The Cleveland Institute of Art, where he proceeded to teach for fourteen years. 800/1,200 Sold $2,271.25 back to catalog |
