134. John James Audubon (American, 1785-1851)

At the top of the print it is numbered No. 32, Plate 160. John James Audubon was an artist and a naturalist famous for his drawings and prints of birds and other animals. He was born in Haiti and lived in France, the United States, and England. His most famous natural drawings are of North American birds and animals. He also wrote careful descriptions of the habits of the birds he drew. This particular image is from the "Birds of North America" Royal Octavo Series.
