This is a hand colored engraving of popular women's fashion in the mid 1800's. This leaf has been taken from an issue of the French newspaper "Le Charivari". "Le Charivari" was created by the French journalist Charles Philipon in 1832. This page is from apprx 1840 and measures apprx 14-1/4" x 9-1/2" . Stamp in the upper margin a seal reads "Royal Timbre, 3c. Seine".
