This is a small watercolor by French artist Maurice de Lambert. It is dated 1890 and measures apprx 7-3/4" x 5-1/2". This is a watercolor illustration for Pierre Loti's book "Aziyade". The text at the bottom of the image is an excerpt from the book describing the beautiful women in Constantinople. The watercolor itself is in excellent condition and shows a small hut on the shore, as well as a man and woman fishing. The artist's signature appears in the lower left corner of the image.
