123. Jacques Callot (French, 1592-1635)

Set of two prints by French printmaker Jacques Callot. Callot's early prints carry the designation "In" the abbreviation for "invenit" that indicates that the artist was the inventor of the composition. One print features a scene from the Stations of the Cross, with a latin inscription at the bottom, the other features a Haarlem landscape. Both have been trimmed, and one has been mounted on cardboard backing. Prints measures apprx 4-1/2" x 8-1/2" and 5-3/4" x 8-3/4".
